The Madison Garden Club was formed in 1934 by ladies in the community after a plant sale. Ninety years later members of the club continue the traditions of creating designs, growing plants, caring for public gardens as well as participating in recyling programs.
Contributions made by clun members help the Forest Service to plant trees across the national forest system where reforestation is needed.
Mountain View Nursing Home and Autumn Care of Madison. Two teams of four to five members go monthly to these nursing homes and work with residents on garden projects and flower arranging.
Continuing support for maintaining and updating furnishings and planting the Mary Temple Fray urns at the entrance
Traditional exchange of plants among members of the club which may include a public sale of plants from members’ gardens to support club projects
Given for youth participants in Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl poster contest and other VFGC/NGC youth activities and contests
Annual tree planting in the Madison community
Given at the annual Madison County Fair for Horticulture and Design excellence
